Arm Lift - Cosmetic Surgey Abroad, Prague, Czech Republic.
Upper Arm Lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure for women and men with saggy upper arms, which are seen in people who have lost significant amount of weight or they develop in normally thin people due to aging and genetics.
What is an Upper Arm Lift?
Upper Arm Lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure for women and men who are concerned about saggy upper arms. This is commonly seen in people who have lost a large amount of weight or have developed loose skin as a result of aging or genetic predisposition.
An upper arm lift surgery is designed to remove loose skin and lift the skin at the top of the arm. Liposuction is designed to reduce the volume of fat but in so doing, on its own, might worsen the appearance of the upper arms if skin laxity is the primary concern. If the principal problem is loose skin and poor skin tone, an arm lift would deliver the best results.
If, however, there is excess skin and excess fat in the upper arm area, liposuction of the upper arms would assist in reducing the overall volume but would not entirely correct the problem. It is therefore quite common for plastic surgeons to perform liposuction as well as upper arm lift.
It is important then, that before you embark on cosmetic surgery, you think very carefully about your expectations and discuss them candidly with your plastic surgeon.
The best candidates for an upper arm lift are those patients who have loose excess skin in their upper arms. Patients should be fit and healthy and psychologically stable with realistic expectations. For this type of surgery, age is not a major consideration. The best time to consider having an upper arm lift is after you have reached your ideal weight through diet and exercise.
Before your surgery your plastic surgeon will mark the areas where the surgery is to be performed. An incision is made, beginning at the inner elbow and proceeding up to the armpit. The incisions are made in this way so that the resulting scar lies along the back of the inner upper arm, placed in a way that has the least visual impact. Quite often the plastic surgeon will also use liposuction, which offers significant improvement with very little visible scarring.
The plastic surgeon usually uses classical stitches, which will need to be removed 21 days after the operation. After 2 weeks, a patient may return to everyday activity, however extreme physical exertion should be avoided. In 4 weeks patient may resume gentle exercise. Any remaining bruising and swelling has usually resolved by 1–2 months after operation.
Bruising or inflammation of the treated area is common, but will disappear in time and the final result is seen after scars have matured in approximately 6 months.
You might also notice that you feel unhappy or depressed a few days after surgery. This is a normal consequence of stress and of undergoing general anaesthetic, frustration with the healing process, more pain than you expected or the fact that you are away from your home and family.
Important, Before You Fly:
Please advise us if you are taking aspirins, as we need to make sure that you have at least two clear weeks of not taking them, before any operation.

This procedure should be carried out by a surgeon with relevant skills and experience.
Upper Arm Lift versus Liposuction
An upper arm lift surgery is designed to remove loose skin and lift the skin at the top of the arm. The Best Candidates for Upper Arm Lift
The best candidate for upper arm lift has realistic expectations about what the result of this cosmetic surgery procedure will be. It's important to realise that while upper arm lift can improve your appearance and self confidence, it will not deliver a magical solution to improving your looks nor will it make other people treat you differently. It is important then, that before you embark on cosmetic surgery, you think very carefully about your expectations and discuss them candidly with your plastic surgeon.

Preparation for Upper Arm Lift
Pharmaceuticals containing acetylsalicylic acid (Acylpirin, Aspirin, and Anopyrin etc.) are not to be used for 3 weeks before the Upper Arm Lift cosmetic surgery, as they affect the clotting capability of the blood. If you smoke you are advised to stop smoking or at least to cut down prior to your surgery. Smoking slows down the recovery process and can also pose an increased risk of complications.
Operation
Before your surgery your plastic surgeon will mark the areas where the surgery is to be performed. An incision is made, beginning at the inner elbow and proceeding up to the armpit. The incisions are made in this way so that the resulting scar lies along the back of the inner upper arm, placed in a way that has the least visual impact. Quite often the plastic surgeon will also use liposuction, which offers significant improvement with very little visible scarring.Post-Operational Course
Recovery starts with a 2-3 day stay in the clinic and you will need to wear a special compression bandage. If drains have been placed, they will be removed 1–3 days after the surgery. Garments worn after liposuction are essential designed to achieve optimum results following surgery and this garment will need to be worn for 4–6 weeks after the surgery although after 4 weeks it will no longer be necessary for the garment to be worn at night. The plastic surgeon usually uses classical stitches, which will need to be removed 21 days after the operation. How Will I Feel After the Surgery?
Straight after surgery you will probably feel tired, sleepy and feel some discomfort and pain especially in the first few post operative days. Your plastic surgeon will also prescribe antibiotics to prevent potential infection and you will also be given tablets to reduce any swelling. You might also notice that you feel unhappy or depressed a few days after surgery. This is a normal consequence of stress and of undergoing general anaesthetic, frustration with the healing process, more pain than you expected or the fact that you are away from your home and family.
Is the Recovery Painful?
Our client’s experience is that some pain is present, especially during the first postoperative days. However, when you leave the clinic you will be prescribe painkillers, which should be sufficient to help with any pain you might have. You might also feel discomfort, swelling, heaviness, and numbness in the areas where surgery was performed but this will reduce in time and is quite normal.Possible Risks and Complications
Liposuction carries slightly higher risk for individuals with medical problems such as diabetes, significant heart or lung disease, poor blood circulation, or those who have recently had surgery near the area to be contoured.
