B I B (BioEnterics Intragastric Balloon)
I just wanted to say a big thank you to Janet, my nutritionist in the UK, who was a great help on a weekly basis, and even around as needed when I had one or two lows :-) I was worried after I had booked, as Nick took so much time to explain everything about the BIB, and was always available for me, even at the weekend, that everything seemed so smooth, that I must have missed something! But no, all was as promised; I was met at the airport, taken to the hotel, checked into the clinic the next morning, and had 2 nights at the clinic. The staff were good to me, and my surgeon took time to explain. After my stay at the clinic, I was again collected and taken back to the airport. I still felt OK, but of course, I had to watch what I was eating, else it could be quite embarrassing at the Airport. I did have quite a few highs and lows over the first few weeks, but gradually all settled OK. I did call Nick once, quite late at night as I felt I needed to check on how I was doing (I had, had quite a bad day, that day), and even so late, my call was answered. Just being able to get in contact with someone, when I was down, was all I needed. Anyway, I promised to write this once I had my BIB removed, which was only 2 days ago. I lost 31Kg in 6 months. I’m still in touch with Janet, just to make sure that I don’t slip back into my bad habits, A big thank you to you all at BBC Direct Freya xx |
