Back from Prague

What a journey !! I had my operation on 20th of November.

I got to Prague in a calm state, not like me.  I somehow knew that this was something I had to do and was meant for me.  A way of securing a healthier and happier future.

We arrived at the Hotel and settled in.  My mum and me went sight seeing on the first day.  Taking in the sights and sounds of Prague, we went to see an orchestra in the St Nicholas Church in Wenslas Square in the evening, it was an amazing and experience.

When I got to the clinic we were greeted by my surgeon who introduced herself and took me through the procedure.  The rest of the day was a blur, all I can remember is being made very comfortable and taken through several stages before I had the procedure.  Before I knew it I was lying on the operating table not feeling one bit scared and looking forward to the next stage of my life.

When I woke up, my mum was next to me, it was all done.  I was so happy; I looked down and had five little plasters on my tummy.  I felt a wee bit sore for a few days, but the physio therapist came in and told me exactly what I needed to do to help the process of healing on quicker and had constant round the clock care from 2 to 3 nurses.

The clinic was great, very clean and all mod cons.  I had a room to myself with a Plazma screen on the wall.  I took my lap-top so I could watch films and e-mail friends, they’ve got wireless connection to the internet which was very handy and  I had a lovely view of a river from my room.

Before I knew it I was leaving the clinic, I felt like I had been well looked after.  My mum and me even got a hug from the staff.  The limousine picked us up and took us back to our hotel.  We had admin staff who spoke perfect English and they organised everything for us.

I’m back at work now, and it all seems like a dream.  I can’t quite believe I’ve done this, to some it seems drastic, but to me, it feels very comfortable. 14 days since the op and I’ve lost 10lbs already!!

I’m starting to see what I was doing wrong with food, having the band in has created a “Stop Gap”  mentally speaking.  At times when I would have normally pigged out, I’m not any more, I now realise that I don’t need as much food as I was packing into my face.  I don’t feel week, I’m getting all the nutrition I need thanks to BB’s on call Nutritionist.

I’m soo happy I can’t explain the feeling.  By summer time next year, I know I’m going to be in size 12 Jeans again.

Oh and the stitches are healing nicely, very cleanly done.  The after care from BB is great and I now feel like I’m part of a family who will always be there for me if I need them.
