My name is christine smith, i had a tummy tuck with bbc on the 24 november 2008 and I have not looked back since.
I had lost nearly 12 stone and I needed to have a tummy tuck but couldn't find any one willing to do it as it was such a large job even in England.
In the UK they were not happy to do it so I was on the internet one day after being turned down again from another surgeon and I saw BBC, as I read though it and thought this is where I should be going, so I rang the number and spoke to a very lovely lady that took my name and number and said she would get some one to ring me 10 minutes.
Later nick rang, and was lovely English speaking and understood what I was hoping to have done. He spoke to me about that they might not be able to do my operation as it was such a large amount to remove, but he was honest and that was what I liked so I sent my photos.
Then few hours later he phoned me back and said yes they was willing to do it. It was the best phone call I had ever had. We spoke about what I would have to do and how long I would need to stay as it was such a big operation which I was happy to do so we booked for me to fly out on the 23 november 2008.
I was meet by a lovely gentleman that took my case and drove me to the hotel, we was speaking about Prague and how lovely it is in the summer as well as winter, and it was so nice to have some make me feel welcome. When we got to the hotel thats when my tummy was doing summersaults, as I knew know it wouldn't be long.
The hotel was lovely, very clean and very posh which was nice.
The day of my operation I was meet at 7 o'clock and was taken over to the clinic where I was meet by both doctors, and DR VISEK. We spoke about what they could do and how they would do it. Both doctors English is very good and they made me feel so relaxed.
I was taken to get my blood test done and every thing was fine so I was taken to the clinic ward where I was given a nighty and so lovely stockings to wear, then I was told it wouldn't be long.
A few hours later I was taken down to have my tummy tuck done and I didn't feel worried at all they had made me feel so claim, when I woke from my operation I was in no pain at all, and was looked after so well. The next day the doctors came to see me and told me how things went. I was so pleased, I couldn't of asked for more, they changed my dressings and asked was there anything they could do. They all looked after me so well.
Every day I saw one of the doctors and they changed my dressing which I think is better as they see your scare every day, so if anything is wrong, they know not like in England when the nurses change your dressings.
Then it was time to go to the hotel, which was just across the road, and yes that is scary as you do feel on your own but they are just a phone call away. I came back after a few day to see the doctor, and for them to check my tummy, and yet again, they was so helpful asking was there anything I needed, or could they do anything for me.
I would go back again any time, as it was the best hospital I have be in, and I have bean in a few!
I went on my own until my husband could come out to bring me home. The hardest part is being on your own in the hotel as you need to rest. You should also try to remember to take DVDs as the TV channels is all in Czech.
All I would like to say is if your thinking of having any surgery done please go to there site and have a read they are great and very understanding.
